Harden's survey result
This rustic bar-restaurant – “a former pub on the outskirts of Henley” – wins consistent ratings for its assured and “unfussy” food. “Why go anywhere else?” asks one local, while a passer-by reports: “found this by accident and had a splendid lunch”.
“A charming old converted Chilterns pub” with a “tremendous garden”, “very cosy upstairs” and “buzzy” downstairs; “the owners know what they’re doing and serve diverse but unfussy food cooked with assurance time after time”.
In a lovely rustic setting, a “properly posh gastropub” (“the Chilterns set were turning up in droves”) with a “nice garden” and “always cheerful service” (plus cooking that’s “a cut above”). The “very cosy” upstairs may be preferred to the “buzzy” downstairs.
Luscombes at the Golden Ball Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The high quality food makes this venue worth visiting. Some areas of the pub however do seem cramped and service is hit and miss"
"Back on form. Portions quite small and prices moving higher."
