This romantic, high-end dining room has brought a slice of Italy to Henley’s waterside since the mid-1990s; “the space is not large, but the extensive use of mirrors makes it feel airy” while the crowd-pleasing menu is always “reliably good”. Given its popularity, it can get “very noisy” – particularly during the local Regatta, which lends its name to one of their many specials (the latter “significantly more expensive than the standard menu offerings”, which are a bargain).

Set on the water by the town bridge over the Thames, a “typically old-school” outfit that’s “family-run”, “long-established” and “excellent value for money” for what is “authentic Italian food”; you dine in a smart, tiled room with a “nice buzz” and “well-paced service”.

Limited, but all-round good feedback on this attractively located riverside Italian – traditional in style, and not far from the town’s bridge over the Thames.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Family run restaurant that apparently has been in existence for circa 30 years. Food tasty, interior pleasant. Service was good and would have received a 3 star rating had an extra £10 been added to the bill due to selection of one of the "specials" (a pasta dish for a child's meal) - not in itself an issue had that been stated on the menu or had we been verbally informed beforehand. I raised it with the owner to no avail. Pity, as I would otherwise be inclined to return."
