“Sheffield’s best Italian” – “this small, family-run, city-centre fixture stands out for its delicious, authentic food and friendly atmosphere” – and is “packed from early on Fridays” for good reason: “genuine Italian bustle and lots of classic dishes served very much to standard”.
“One of the best Italian restaurants in the North of England” is “run by a young couple with children, and unusually, of the two, the chef is the woman”. The “rare” and “excellent” wine list shares honours with the “brilliant cooking”.
“An absolute gem in a back street near the Crucible” – this “sophisticated Italian could do with more space and better presentation to allow its imaginative and beautiful food to shine more”. As great a draw is the “excellent Italian wine list” (“with rarity and exclusive prices at the top end”) with very “helpful advice” provided. “It’s tiny so booking is essential”.
A candidate for “the best Italian in Sheffield (with Nonna’s?)” – a “small and intimate” indie, whose food and “fascinating” wine list “knock spots off many a London restaurant”. It’s “close to the Crucible Theatre, so perfectly located for a pre-theatre meal, but clearly worth settling down for a full dinner”.
