“Tapas with style… and it never disappoints” – that’s the appeal of Peter and Elaine Kinsella’s re-located operation: “a brilliant and buzzing bar/restaurant” (plus in-house deli) that “continues the high quality of the original” having moved a short distance from the first site, in Liverpool One. In summer 2018, the couple opened a spin-off, Lunyalita – one of a number of new openings in Albert Dock, with the arched ceilings and brickwork typical of the location.

“A superb tapas restaurant (with a fantastic deli)” – Peter and Elaine Kinsella’s successful fixture in Liverpool One (opened in 2010) is one of the best-known options in the city: “it’s a cut above, and there’s real attention to detail from Spanish staff who seem interested to see justice done to their cuisine”! In October 2017, it moved to a new unit a short distance from the original, and is now all on one level (but we’ve maintained the rating).

“You can visit for a snack, or pig out on the full gourmet experience” at this Latino, shopping-mall mecca – nowadays the most commented-on eatery in ‘The Pool’. “The modern tapas just gets better and better” and “there’s a good, short wine list” in what’s a “laid-back, café-style place” (with a “brilliant deli” attached). “Now open in Manchester too.”

“Catalonia comes to The ’Pool”, at this inspired yearling, which defies its “sterile location, in the middle of a shopping mall” to produce “Spanish cooking with real heart” (“you won’t find tapas to beat this outside of Spain, and in fact it’s better than much of that you find IN Spain”). Top Tip – check out its “fascinating adjoining deli”.
