For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Fox And Hounds Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Diner Reviews
"We visit the F&H at Hunsdon at least once per month, sometimes more often, particularly if we like the monthly menu. We always chose a table in the bar where we like the atmosphere with lots of comings and goings, whereas the dining room unless it is fully booked tends to be rather dead when we are eating in the early evening. We find the value for the quality of the raw materials and the preparation is exceptional as is the wine by the glass. "
"Locals and visitors Interesting and exceptionally busy venue. They welcome dogs, one sat near my feet watching me a lot, but well behaved! Took a little time to order and get my first course, but after that service was well paced. Generally happy with service, any slight glitches were a reflection of how busy it as. Josper squid was delicious with nice leaves too. Well matched with perfect chorizo. Main was a very good quality roast beef, well presented nicely cooked, with very well cooked vegetables. Dessert was on a whole different level… Paris Brest, choux pastry, praline cream, hot chocolate sauce & toasted nuts of exceptional taste and quality, only niggle would like Choux slightly lighter! Lovely staff, clean characterful toilets. Well worth the hours drive, just past Harlow."
