Featured Fulham Restaurants
1. Pure Indian Cooking
Indian restaurant in Fulham
67 Fulham High Street - SW6
Ignore the “average curry house” looks: this place “turns out adventurous and seductive dishes as good as many of the Michelin-starred Indians”, offering “West End flavours at suburban prices”. It’s owner-operated by “lovely people” – chef Shilpa Dandekar, who trained under both Raymond Blanc and Quilon’s Sriram Aylur, and her husband Faheem Vanoo (although “now without their own day-to-day personal attention with the opening of their new restaurant in South Kensington, Pravaas”, see also). Top Menu Tip – “the best black daal”.
2. Koji
Japanese restaurant in Fulham
58 New King’s Rd - SW6
“Inventive” Japanese-inspired cuisine (including “great sushi”) wins praise from a big fan club for Robert & Pat Barnett’s “lovely” long-established venue, which is unusually glam and ‘West End-y’ for somewhere in the boonies of Parsons Green. Ever since its Mao Tai days (you’re dating yourself if you recall those) it’s had a forward-looking formula: currently this comprises sashimi, seafood tacos, tempura and kushiyaki and grills from the robata.
3. Fishers
Fish & chips restaurant in Fulham
19 Fulham High Street - SW6
2024 Review: “The fish is consistently very good (whether battered, grilled or steamed)” at this “perennial favourite” chippy near Putney Bridge in Fulham, which offers “takeaway and a small dine-in area with a half-dozen tables”. “The chips are not bad and the price is reasonable”.
4. Sukho Fine Thai Cuisine
Thai restaurant in Fulham
855 Fulham Rd - SW6
“Best Thai food in southwest London” – in a humble Fulham shopping parade, with a large, long-time following from across the SW postcodes. There’s a “polite waiting team” too – “it’s just a shame that you are so packed in”.
5. Nuovi Sapori
Italian restaurant in Fulham
295 New King’s Rd - SW6
This “cute and small neighbourhood Italian” near Parsons Green – complete with tasteful neutral decor, proper tablecloths and large pepper grinders – continues to thrive on its “good-quality cooking and friendly service”.
6. Royal China
Chinese restaurant in Fulham
805 Fulham Rd - SW6
This well-known Cantonese group retains a large fan-base praising “still among the best dim sum in London”, presented in “comfortable surroundings” by “amiable (if overselling) service” (although feedback on the evening offering suggests it’s a matter of “fine dining prices for indifferent food”). As damaging, though, are the company’s multiplying legal problems, with diners complaining of “no alcohol licence!” at the Baker Street branch, which was stripped of it in 2024 and fined £360,000 for employing illegal immigrants, and in March 2025 its Royal Gourmet division, which produces wontons, steamed buns and roasted duck at a facility in Park Royal, was fined a total of £113,000 by Uxbridge magistrates after pleading guilty to 11 serious failures in food and hygiene safety – including rodent droppings. Royal Gourmet also paid £332,000 in fines for breaches of the Water Industry Act back in 2019. As one reporter comments: “Oh dear, what went wrong over the last decade! A bit shambolic… , and the quality of food has definitely worsened” in recent times.
7. Cocotte
Chicken restaurant in Parsons Green
271 New King's Road - SW6
2024 Review: “Chicken with amazing sides” is the winning formula at Romain Bourrillon’s rotisserie chain, which imports its chooks from France. “Nice brunch”, too.
8. Bone Daddies
Japanese restaurant in Putney
22 Putney High St - SW15
“Delicious ramen with rich home-made broth” draws a steady crowd to these “quick, casual” joints “with a fun classic rock soundtrack”; and whose “great noodles are very consistent across their branches” (there are now seven across the capital). Top Menu Tip – “bao bun specials are good too, and great value”.
9. Coppa Club Putney
British, Modern restaurant in Putney
29 Brewhouse Lane - SW15
“Love the ambience… no pressure to quit the table and nice to overlook the river” – such are the plus points of these flexible, comfortable and welcoming homes-from-home in the Home Counties and in London near Tower Bridge and in Putney. Celebration? Both locations also feature funky little Thames-side ‘igloos’ seating up to 8. Looking for great food too? Don’t bother! “Disappointment” is often registered regarding the salads, pizza and other very middle of the road fare – keep your celebrations as liquid as possible…
10. Brasserie Constance
British, Modern restaurant in Hammersmith and Fulham
Level 1, Fulham Pier, Stevenage Road - SW6
Promising a riverside dining experience with stunning views of the Thames, this mid-2025 newcomer (which opened after our annual diners’ poll had concluded) is situated in Fulham Football Club’s new Fulham Pier development and is overseen by chef Adam Byatt of Trinity fame in Clapham. It is a brasserie offering modern British seasonal dishes, including an à la carte menu and set lunch. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows and a terrace for al fresco dining.
