A big outside terrace adds further to the appeal of this attractive old Highgate pub, well-rated for its “reliable food and great beer”.

“Top-notch” Highgate Village local that’s arguably “the best gastropub in north London” currently – and perfect “for a late lunch after a walk on the heath”. The menu stretches from a “generous Sunday roast” and “gastropub favourites” to “a great selection of seafood” and “Asian-accented dishes” – “all cooked with style and attention to flavour”. “Great beer” too, but perhaps more notably an “excellent range of wines”.

“A local gem”, this “high-quality” five-year-old takes its cue from the royal cuisine of Hyderabad in south-central India, and attracts regulars from beyond its East Finchley neighbourhood.

“Surprisingly Spanish” – this “busy” former Wetherspoons in Highgate is taking the neighbourhood by storm with its very “decent” tapas. “Lovely Sunday lunches too” and they even have a small theatre upstairs!
