For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“Unbelievably fresh seafood” (“an incredible treat for crab lovers…”, “tasty lobster roll”, “fillets of various fish”) are “caught daily by local trawlers” and “delivered straight from boat to plate in hours” at this “funky waterfront location”. “A lively shack tucked away on the back beach”, there’s “nothing fancy about it”, but service is “with a smile” and “the only problem is getting a table”.
“The husband catches it and the wife cooks it” at this seaside shack, “in a fantastic location on Teignmouth’s back beach” (“get a seat on the terrace for a great sunset”). “The catch from the owner’s fishing boats is exceptional” and “doesn’t get any fresher” – “the crab is so good!!!!!” – and “you’re by the water, and it smells amazing”. (“The only problem is getting a table” and “they do observe the time allocation rather religiously...”)
“Go hungry” when you visit this family-run beachside shack, which serves “the best seafood for miles around”, and has “a fantastic setting on Teignmouth’s back beach”. “Don’t just think about rocking up – it’s so difficult to get a table, but worth it if you do!” (“Hopefully the new terrace will end the nightmare of having to book so far in advance.”)
Fish comes “straight off the boat into the kitchen” at this “busy” but “relaxed” family-run beachside shack; it’s “really popular with locals and tourists”, though... “half the battle is getting a table”.
Crab Shack Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Freshest of fresh seafood, simply prepared and served by friendly staff. Lovely location on the estuary beach but a small building so necessary to book ahead as it deservedly popular."
