“Fish and shellfish fresh off their own boats” is the trump card at this quirky-looking harbour shack with “their own smokehouse”. “Sticking with the local ethos” they now have a licence with “drinks from the local Adnams brewery/wine merchant/distillery”, but it’s all still pretty rough and ready by the standards of chichi Southwold.
“Do not be put off by the shack-like appearance” (it’s “very quirky, but that’s it’s USP”) – this “no-frills” restaurant and smokehouse is a “brilliant” place to visit for its “great cold seafood platters plus the option for super fresh fish dishes” by night. For good or ill, there’s also now a “limited wine list” in lieu of BYO.
“Dickensian shed from the outside” – inside this “harbourside shack” is a “wonderfully quirky restaurant and wet fish counter”, whose “superb” fish dinners and “fabulous” cold seafood platters mean that it’s “one of the worst-kept secrets” in town! NB These days they also have a smokehouse and wine license, so it’s no longer BYO.
