Summary
“A really romantic setting with stunning views over the river” – this boutique hotel dining room in Richmond features “delicious, refined dining” from chef Steven Edwards (owner of Brighton’s etch and a former winner of MasterChef: The Professionals) from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch. It’s “pricey, but a great treat!”. A simpler menu is available for the dining room and verandah Monday-Wednesday.
Summary
“A super-pretty location” helps make the dining room of this Richmond boutique hotel – rebranded last year as the Bingham Riverhouse – “unbeatable for a special meal”. To accompany the “lovely ambience”, and “great views over the Thames”, the food is an attraction in itself: “the menu reflects the seasons well and is always delivered to a high standard”.

Summary
“A breathtaking panorama overlooking the Thames” helps makes the restaurant of this small boutique hotel “an exceptional choice in Richmond”. The cuisine is very “reliable” too, using “fine ingredients”, but there’s a recurring complaint: “the portions are very small” (“the dining room was full of ladies-who-lunch, and judging by their figures they don’t eat that much!”). Top Tip: “the market menu is good value”.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Steven Edwards Bingham Riverhouse Restaurant Diner Reviews

"I was a guest but felt embarrassed for my host. The venue is lovely, and a pre dinner drink overlooking the river is a great way to start. The dining room is small but well decorated. The ambience score would have been higher apart from the large table of noisy Americans. The menu was interesting if a little confusing in the way it read but we sorted it out. Neither I nor my host had spotted that the £3 supplement was not for scallops but scallop…. The food was lovely, interesting and tasty but the portion size was very small- what the Americans made of it…. My husband and my host decided to share a cheese course but to be frank, the piece of cheese was smaller than a Vache qui Rit cheese portion and was outnumbered by biscuits 3:1. It was almost laughable. Not inclined to return"

"This delightful dining room overlooks the Thames at Richmond. We ordered the five course tasting menu and every dish was beautifully presented and extremely well prepared. The combination of flavours and textures was delightful. Will be visiting again."
