Harden's says
This Thames-side restaurant-with-rooms in the village of Medmenham was supposed to be the next home of Henry Harris, of Racine fame (RIP), however the chef quit his post as chef-patron before the launch in July 2016 over 'artistic differences'. As well as a bar and dining room with 450-bin wine list, the venue has six luxurious suites, set inside a neighbouring Grade-II listed cottage (formerly an alehouse), opened at the end of May 2016.

"Great food, service and ambience at a reasonable price. The interior has been renovated in a modern but sympathetic way. I understand that the pub reopened under new management as Amerone at the Dog and Badger earlier in 2026. Both the owners and the cuisine are Italian. Our meal was fairly simple and we all agreed that the food was very tasty and the rose wine refreshing. Service was attentive and friendly. On a minor note I found the background musak a little too loud. Definitely recommend and definitely plan to return."
