“The small menu really delivers on taste and price” with “some absolutely amazing dishes”, at Calcutta-born Asma Khan’s former supper club, now in hugely popular, permanent quarters off Carnaby Street. The “friendly” staff, including an all-women kitchen team of self-described ‘housewives’, ensure there’s a real “home-cooked” flavour to the enterprise.
“On the top floor of Kingly Court and less frantic than the more happening places below” – “Asma Khan has a winner on her hands” at this “very genuine feeling” follow-up to her former pop-up ventures. From “a well chosen menu of distinctive dishes with an authentic ‘home cooked’ vibe”, the resulting dishes are “full of spicy flavour without being greasy or heavy”. “It’s so authentic even Indians can’t get enough of it!”
From supper club star, to pop-up favourite (at The Sun and 13 Cantons), Asma Khan’s Darjeeling Express has finally found a permanent station atop Kingly Court in Soho, serving an array of north Indian dishes that are “generous, interesting and so delicious”.
