On the second floor of this new Japanese-Nordic food and retail emporium, in a Grade II listed property, is a Nordic restaurant "inspired by travels" and meaning ‘fire’ in Old Norse. Eldr is a 70-seat restaurant with counter dining and a seasonal menu showcasing Nordic cooking methods and traditions; pickling, foraging and cooking with fire. An open kitchen built around a wood fire grill is the beating heart of this restaurant and bar located on the second floor of Pantechnicon. This is a social space flooded with light and filled with natural materials which invites guests to enjoy food and wine inspired by the shared simplicity and traditions of the nine Nordic territories. The ingredient-led seasonal menu uses Nordic cooking techniques such as smoking, curing and fermenting to celebrate locally sourced British produce. The drinks menu consists of Nordic spirits and cocktails, as well as featuring natural and biodynamic wines.
