With its inviting décor, this fast-expanding group has been a big “winner” since the pandemic, mushrooming to 18 sites, all of which have generally proved useful additions to their respective areas. But while “it certainly looks the part, and the staff look after you well enough”, the brunch-friendly fare can be hit ’n’ miss, with reports ranging from “surprisingly good” to “formulaic and really abysmal”. Top Tip – “always a top option for feeding the family”.

With their very “pretty interiors” and “great brunch” – this “reliable chain” of “cheerful” all-day hang-outs has emerged completely undaunted from the pandemic, expanding beyond its south west London heartlands as far as Islington, Marlow and St Albans. With new openings scheduled for late 2021 in Dulwich and Richmond, the roll-out shows no sign of slowing down. They’re very “dog friendly” too.

“Affordable and with a nice vibe” – these good-looking, all-day hang-outs major in brunch, but make reasonably-priced options for a relaxed meal at any time. This year, they added Kensington High Street and Islington to the stable and spread beyond inner London to Surbiton and St Albans.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Megan's in Battersea and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and cozy atmosphere that Megan's is known for. The decor was charming and rustic, with beautiful greenery and fairy lights adorning the walls and ceilings. The menu was extensive and offered a variety of dishes to suit all tastes, from healthy salads to indulgent burgers. I opted for the chicken skewers and was blown away by the flavors and tenderness of the chicken. The portion sizes were generous and I left feeling completely satisfied. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that my experience was nothing short of perfect. The cocktails were also a highlight of the meal - I particularly enjoyed the gin and elderflower fizz. Overall, I would highly recommend Megan's in Battersea to anyone looking for a cozy and delicious dining experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch and I can't wait to go back."
