“Italian small plates (this time)” “from the Salt House tapas stable” – win solid ratings for this “friendly, buzzy restaurant” from the Red & Blue team. It’s “great for a larger party”, with “seats at the bar good for dates”; “it’s crowded so you do get to hear your neighbours’ conversations – although in Liverpool that can be theatre”.
The business district “sister to Salt House Tapas” is “always a local favourite”, with an Italian “small plates menu that means you can take your time and graze over a leisurely glass of wine”. Owners Red and Blue Restaurants launched a fourth city-centre joint, ‘Rocket and Ruby’, on Castle St in late 2018, with a Bacaro expansion also in the pipeline.
“Not many places come close to Bacaro,” say fans of the Salt House Tapas crew’s “busy, modern” Italian joint, in the business district; “the (small plates-style) menu changes regularly” and is “more eclectic than the Venetian-style name would imply”.
