“Luke Garnsworthy has created a winner!” according to fans of “this smart new restaurant with rooms in the heart of Henley-on-Thames” – a sibling to Crockers Tring, with two chef's tables (one pan-Asian, one modern British), a bar and grill and seven bedrooms. They say “we didn’t know what to expect, but it was beyond wonderful”. Ratings are undercut, though, by a fair proportion of critics. “I tried both chef’s tables and twice in the grill, typically spending £150-200 per head. The chef’s tables I found gimmicky and poor”. They must be getting something right, though, as in 2021 they added Ember into the mix – an à la carte dining room headed up by former National Chef of Wales, Tom Westerland, where most of the cooking is, as the name hints, over fire.
