Summary
Set within the new Graduate hotel on the banks on the Cam, the name of this grill-focused hotel restaurant (opened in Summer 2021) references the name of the former hotel on this site (for decades the posh place to stay for parents visiting their little lovelies at the uni). White Rabbit Studio (Lina Stores, Kricket) is in charge of the food under chef Adam Wood (ex-Perilla). (It’s Oxford sibling has taken over The Randolph; the group also has a portfolio of hotels in college towns in America).
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Garden House Restaurant Diner Reviews

"So a new hotel to the UK and a prime spot for a restaurant by at the he Cam. It’s new so some teething problems are to be expected and the general experience was good but not great. Lots of explanation on the higher prices as you go down the menu reflecting the expectation of sharing food and there lies the problem. To start with the good. Bread excellent as were cocktails and wines by the glass especially the Bacchus. The beef starter was tasty as any tartare should be. Mussels well sauced and creamy but only 5 of them, give me strength. Veggie starters were good but the green veg main was too oily and short on taste. The vegetarian tart was very good . The pollock (2 mouthfuls) at £17 was a joke. A minute quail while tasty passed in a couple of mouthfuls between 2 . The mash was vg but again short on quantity . The dessert list is too short but the ice cream was a hit. Bill £200+ which for 2 cocktails 4 glasses of wine and low volume plates was a big OTT. While we would go again. But if the undoubted ability of the kitchen is to be enjoyed the menu needs extended and plates filled !"
