Harden's survey result
Summary
Roti King near London’s Euston Station has become a fooderati legend, and owner Malaysian chef Sugen Gopal has successfully expanded it into a small London group (see also). In the Lanes, in May 2025 (too late for survey feedback), he is now aiming to spread his blend of bargain roti canai and spicy Asian stews for the first time beyond the M25.
For 35 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
