Have you eaten at The Coach House Norbury?

Owner's description

The Coach House is a restaurant with rooms situated in the conservation village of Norbury, in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nestled between the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones the setting is nothing short of idyllic.

The AA have rated the accomodation as 4 star with an additional GOLD award to reflect the level of quality that we offer. We have 3 dog friendly rooms and 4 non dog friendly ones. Your pet may join you in either of our two lounge bar rooms for a meal yet our main dining room is pet free.

Our restaurant has been awarded 2AA rosettes for culinary excellence and our young chef is definitely one to watch. We offer lunches on Friday and Saturday and dinner service every night from Wednesday to Saturday. We also do Sunday lunches on Bank Holiday weekends and monthly Tasting Menu evenings with matching wine flights. Lexi Morris, one of our owners is a qualified wine maker and will be delighted to discuss all things grapes with you.

Our food is modern British and we focus on seasonal local produce of which there is an abundance. Our butchers are the only accreddited Rare Breeds butcher in Shropshire and we have outstanding relationships with several local farmers and gardeners to bring us exceptional quality ingredients.

We have a fully licensed bar with an outstanding wine & spirits selection and also offer local ales & cider on draught as well as in bottles.

Whilst we strive for the utmost quality in whatever we do we insist that our service is relaxed and unpretentious so that you can enjoy what we offer with no airs and graces.

We are all passionate about food, drink and making sure our customers havea  great time when they are with us.

We hope to see you soon.

The chef

Chef Harry Bullock is only 21 years old but do not let his tender age fool you. He has been working in professional kitchens for over 8 years and in his time has worked at the Michellin starred La Becasse in Ludlow, Fishmore Hall (3AA rosettes), done a stage at the 2 star Le Manoir aux Quatres Saisons before working in Church Strettons Housmans and the Pound at Leebotwood.

In 2017 Harry joined the Coach House Norbury as Head Chef at the age of 19 and in April that year received 2 AA rosettes of his own in his first ever inspection.

Harry's food is flavour driven but beautifully presented. He is very proud of his Shropshire roots and does his utmost to promote the best produce available from Shropshire and the surrounding counties. His food is best described as Modern British although he will happily use more international flavours if he thinks it suits.
