Harden's survey result
With its “lovely, accomplished cooking” and “beautiful building in a riverside village”, this smart, eighteenth-century inn near Exeter is “brilliant for a weekend break”. All the food is highly rated – from the eight-course tasting menu to the “excellent beef sandwiches and moreish homemade soup” served in the less formal Glasshouse.
“Really excellent cooking, with quality ingredients at a fair price” wins very enthusiastic reviews (if from a smallish fanclub) for the dining room at this handsome eighteenth century inn, which nowadays operates as a restaurant-with-rooms. There’s also a cheaper eating option – The Glasshouse, set in a glazed-in courtyard.
