“This could be the best of the Pig group”, say fans of this Elizabethan-era Otter Valley outpost of the dressed-down country-house hotel chain. “Shabby chic, with some chairs so rickety you think they’re going to collapse, but once you’ve overcome those fears the food is wholesome and tasty”.
Opened in April 2016, this dramatic new outpost of the rural-chic Pig group enjoys a “wonderful (Elizabethan-era) location” – formerly Combe House Hotel – with a conservatory-style dining room delivering the “beautifully presented” local fare that’s the hallmark of the brand.
The Pig at Combe Restaurant Diner Reviews
"First class cuttle fish, sirloin steak bakewell tart. Young but good staff. Disappointing bedroom. Beautiful building and location"
"A busy lunchtime, but well-handled by front of house. Relaxed bar with comfy sofas, fresh seasonal food; enjoyed pottering around the kitchen garden."
"Lovely location, good service, excellent food. Amazing creamy black pudding as a starter. Stone bass was great, John Dory good. All the food has its provenance shown - most of the fish comes from St Ives, other items mostly withion 25 miles plus home grown herbs and foraged stuff."
