With “a beautiful garden for relaxing in Summer and such a cosy interior for cold winters” – this very popular, “upmarket dining pub” in “a gorgeous part of the country beneath the South Downs and on the edge of Petworth Park” is something of a rural idyll with “always welcoming and jovial staff” and “imaginative food from local produce”.
“Breathing countryside rusticity” – this “lovely” informal inn (with rooms) is a real “gem” (The Good Pub Guide’s 2017 Pub of the Year), with “adventurous” cuisine, based on “hyper-local sourcing”.
The Horse Guards Inn Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Both green vegetables were undercooked and tough, (long-stem brocolli and kale), which is a shame as everything else was fantastic: smoked fish with almonds and grapefruit, and a beautiful goat loin with smooth mash and root vegetables"
"Very popular for weddings, so can be crowoded at lunch time. Good food produced from local sources (it seems all trout is 'chalk stream' now. The Selsey crab was substantial. The market here is high on fish'n chips."
