“Beautifully presented, authentically French food” – “some of the best I’ve tasted outside France” – earns consistently high ratings for Serge Tassi’s veteran bistro as it approaches its 40th anniversary. The largely French staff ensure that service is “stylish but not over-complicated”, and that the dishes are “cooked by somebody who really understands flavour and texture”.
Having just celebrated its 35th anniversary, Serge Tassi’s veteran “continues to up its game”; “it still keeps its French brasserie heart”, with “authentic” cooking that “takes advantage of the seasons”. It’s “not cheap but reasonably priced”.
“A little bit of the 10th arrondissement in Reigate” – Serge Tassi’s “very jolly” Gallic venture (celebrating its 35th year of operation) serves “lovely French fare” and has “upped its game in recent times while retaining a brasserie feel”. That the wines are “a bit pricey” is an occasional gripe.
“Still a good brasserie” offering “very French” and “very enjoyable” cuisine; it did, however, rub a few reporters up the wrong way this year – whether because it “tries too hard” to be Gallic (“couldn’t bear the corny, and noisy, accordion!”) or because the “wine prices are ridiculously high”.
