Harden's survey result
Not enough people have commented yet
Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.
Do you think it deserves to be better known?
Write a quick review now using our restaurant diary service. That way it might catch our attention. Next survey, you can transfer your diary entry into our survey system. Everyone who contributes 5 or more reviews in our survey will qualify for a free guide.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

La Rock Restaurant Diner Reviews
"La Rock is sited in a in usual site tucked on the edge of a new housing area, but conveniently opposite a free carpark in the evening. The decor is simple and background (the food takes centre stage here) with softly played jazz/blues music. You are greeted warmly, with coats etc being taken, and indeed all service staff are welcoming and helpful. They have been well trained. As well as provided with a 3 course menu (or 2 course if you wish - but you won’t want to miss a course here!) you are offered a delicious amuse bouche (usually a trio of actually amusing tasters - eg. Miniature fish and chips) and a mouth cleanser between courses. The staff are happy to explain dishes to you and will describe your plate in full detail on presentation (you can skip this if you like, but personally I like to know everything about my meal). The presentation is a work of art on the plate and in the mouth. Everything, absolutely everything, is cooked and presented to perfection. At the end of the meal you fill satiated but not uncomfortably full. You are not rushed through for a 2nd sitting to come, the whole evening being a relaxing, entertaining and enjoyable time. Yes it is on the more expensive side (£100 per person), but well worth paying for and I would far rather miss many mediocre meals for one of these. This is now our go to special occasion restaurant. My 93 yr old mother hopes to be around for her 94th birthday celebration to return here."
