Ambitious vegetarian cuisine wins consistently strong ratings for former Sat Bains chef Roya Bishop at her two-storey Beeston venue – to which she moved after starting out in a tiny 14-seater in 2010. She raids cuisines around the world for inspiration, so on any given evening the quartet of main dishes on offer might be traced to Italy, Sri Lanka, Central America and her mother’s homeland Iran.

“Exceptional veggie food in the heart of Beeston” (“at lunchtime it's entirely vegan”) draws nothing but praise for this two-floor outfit which “excels in taste combinations and spices” – even “carnivores will not miss the meat!”

A popular and “interesting” two-floor veggie “just out of town” in Beeston, with a “small but select wine list” and decent lunch deals; by all accounts it’s “well worth a try” (even for carnivores).

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
