A US import, The Halal Guys have been around for 27 years, after starting as a hot dog stand. They now focus on halal street food - hot sandwiches or bowls with meat or falafel - and are planning up to 20 branches in the UK over the next few years.

“Finally a US brand that delivers the goods!” This “cheap ’n’ cheerful” yearling – a fast food caff with outside seating just off Leicester Square – is the first UK outpost of a 27-year-old, NYC-brand that started as a hot dog stand, but where now the focus is on halal street food (hot sandwiches, or bowls with meat or falafel), which early reports say is “superb value”. The roll-out is already ongoing: a second branch opened in Earl’s Court in Summer 2019.
