“No-fuss” Chinese dive in posh Kensington that’s “filled with surprising high-end customers, particularly given its shared table design” and beyond-retro 1950s decor. “The cheap food’s always the same: consistently delicious and freshly cooked – long may it continue in this expensive area”.
For Chinese chow as cheap as chips and chock full of flavour, this small, 1950s-style dive on posh Kensington High Street is just the ticket – it’s not a foodie fave rave, but a ‘good-nosh-for-not-a-lot-of-dosh’ kind of joint.
This “unreconstructed noodle bar” – whose “pretty tatty” looks are in sharp contrast to ever-more chichi High Street Ken – is “the real thing, for when you’re tired of Wagamama” (which it predates by decades). “Service is fast”, providing “a large choice of delicious Chinese chow to take away or eat in, at bargain prices”.
“Been there for years, and always full” – this tiny, “everyday” High Street Ken canteen ladles out “yummy Singapore noodles, mouth-watering wonton soup, succulent pork belly and rice” as you perch on stools (defo “not a place to linger!”)
