Harden's says

Many moons ago home to Marco Pierre White's Oak Room restaurant, this fine hotel dining room now plays host to Madhu's, which serves Punjabi cuisine with a Kenyan twist. The landmark Edwardian hotel, previously known as Le Meridien Piccadilly, is now being run as an independent hotel, whimsically called The Dilly.

Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"I dined at this magnificent restaurant at the weekend. I must say that I have not come across such a palatial style restaurant and that too in the heart of London. The whole feel of the place was prestigious. Right from the seating, the personalised cutlery and the attention to detail put into everything is phenomenal. A wonderful bar area with professional bar tenders creating specialised drinks. The hostesses on arrival have a beautiful smile making you feel welcome. The bar music and an Instagram chair makes you feel extra special. Coming to the food and service, I have always been a great fan of Madhu’s. Their authentic East African influenced Indian cuisine is known for consistency. The starters like Palak Patta Chaat and Masala Mogo were exceptionally good. The main course Karahi Paneer, Tarka Channa Dal and Baingan Ka Bharta for vegetarians were well balanced dishes. For non-vegetarians the on the bone Boozi Bafu is Madhu’s signature dish and with a hand on my heart I have never tasted a lamb dish as good as this. The bread basket, green salad and boondi raita perfectly complimented the main course. Finally the mixed platter of Gajar Ka Halwa, Malai Kulfi and Pistachio ice cream were like icing on the cake. I believe that they offer a great value for money, given the grandeur and location of the place."

"I had an amazing night at this venue on Friday with friends, we were welcomed with smiles by the hostess and seated in the gorgeous bar area where we all amazed at the stunning surroundings and gorgeous bar, the cocktails were great to look at and taste, lots of space and great music , we felt we were in for a real treat and we certainly were..the dining room is so majestic and luxurious but not pretentious and again that feeling of space was great..having dined at all of Madhu`s other venue`s from the flagship Southall branch to the high end Grove it had to be about the food for me and this was no different-every dish we ordered and was reccomended delivered, 10/10 but this is an experience not just a great meal ,its a night out and the best I have had in a long time, great food, attentive and informed staff, stunning bar & dining room,, cant wait to go back and can not recommend Madhus highly enough"
