“My ‘go-to’ lunch restaurant in the West End”“the moment they pull back the curtains you enter a cosy, dimly lit part of Buenos Aires” at this Argentinian spot near the Wallace Collection, from well-travelled chef-patron Diego Jacquet (ex-El Bulli and Aquavit New York). “Lovely calm service adds to the romantic atmosphere”. Top Menu Tip – “the Bife de Ancho (ribeye) is simply sensational: not to be missed”.

“Small, personal and romantic, with serious food for meat fans” – an Argentinian venue near the Wallace Collection in Marylebone, run by chef-patron Diego Jacquet, who trained in his native Buenos Aires under the legendary Francis Mallmann and worked at El Bulli in Spain and Aquavit in New York. Top Tip – “set lunch is a bargain”.

Grilled beef, both Argentine and British, is the star of the show at Argentinian chef-patron Diego Jacquet’s comfortable modern outfit near the Wallace Collection – and, after more than a decade, it “hasn’t lost the quality”, while the “service is always good and friendly”. Oenophiles enjoy the range of Argentinian wines, while the prix fixe lunch is a steal.

Argentinian chef/patron Diego Jacquet’s Marylebone ten-year-old again won high marks this year. There’s quite a menu selection, of which the mainstays are the grills and steaks – the latter includes both UK-reared options and those imported from Argentina – and there’s also an interesting selection of Argentinean wines to interest all budgets (including large ones!) Both meat and wine are now available mail order.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
