* Based on a three course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT.

Providing “faithful” service to an expensively dressed clientele in one of Chelsea’s prettiest streets – this “lovely local” (too posh really to qualify as a ‘gastropub’) has an excellent buzz and consistently well-rated food. As always, though, there’s the odd grumble here about its price level.

“A pretty place with pretty customers” is a verdict few would contest on this “smart yet casual” Chelsea haunt – “a fun spot enjoyed by young and old” with a “great ambience and buzz”. The food is “sound – with high prices reflecting the location” on gorgeous Walton Street.

Where the ‘Made in Chelsea’ crowd go when they become older singles! – this chichi stalwart in a gorgeous enclave near Knightsbridge is a cosy rendezvous with very dependable cooking.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Good all round. Mainly posh middle-aged plus clientele but lively. We enjoyed dinner alfresco. "
