Harden's survey result
“White table clothes, Italian staff serving good, honest food. What’s not to love” about this “old-style (this is a compliment) local that’s been on Northcote Road for years”. That’s the upbeat view, anyway, but – while a majority of its Nappy Valley regulars still sing its praises – marks dipped this year amid the odd report that it is “losing its charm”, with “tables far too close together” for comfort. Perhaps popularity has come at a cost.
Providing sterling service to the families of Battersea’s ‘Nappy Valley’ for the best part of 30 years, this “good local Italian” remains “very busy”. Don’t expect culinary pyrotechnics, but the cooking “has maintained a steady quality”.
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
