Run by chef-patron, Jesse Dunford Wood for over 12 years now: “the menu is consistently interesting, beautifully prepared and delicious at this family-run gastropub” in Kensal Rise. Top Tip – “one of the best Sunday lunches in London, but don’t just visit on Sundays…”

Limited but upbeat feedback this year on this Kensal Rise fixture (akin to a gastropub) run by Jesse Dunford Wood, which opens from breakfast on (with a break in the afternoons). The place really comes into its own during brunch or Sunday lunch. Top Menu Tip – ‘Cow Pie’.

“An absolute pleasure every time we visit” – this “innovative and buzzy, local gastropub” on Kensal Rise features “colourful, delicious cooking” from Jesse Dunford Wood (a well-travelled chef with a fine-dining background) and service is delivered by “a team that really care”. “There’s a great outdoor seating area”, and what regulars say is “probably the best Sunday roast in London”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
