Reporters in our annual diners’ poll were ‘not sure what the hype is about’ when it came to the launch of ‘Belly’ – Omar Shah’s first launch in Kentish Town in May 2025, which aims to fuse French culinary techniques with Filipino flavours. Perhaps this – his second nearby debut – in September 2026 will find more favour? If the final build lives up to the PR visuals it will be a good looking venue (on a site that was previously a hair and beauty academy). A bakery by day, at night it will serve pizza, all with a Filipino slant, plus a menu of crudo, kinilaw (raw seafood), salads and pasta.
