“A nice, laid-back American buzz” has helped win a loyal following over the years for this small chain of Kansas City-style diners: one of the first in London to bring BBQ indoors. “It’s a fun place” (in the right mood) and the food is “decent” and in man-sized portions, but “not particularly special”.

“If you want a pile of BBQ meat, you won’t be disappointed” by these “laid back”, “typically American and un-subtle” Kansas City-style BBQs. “No frills”, “tender and tasty” food at “decent” prices has proved a recipe for longevity for the group, an early pioneer of London’s flesh-plus-fire dining scene. These Kansas City-style BBQ joints were some of the first to mine the capital’s enthusiasm for Americana, and their “cookie-cutter feel” is arguably all part of the “fun”. The large, “all-American menu” seems to follow the principle of “pile it high and sell it cheap” – results are “decent, but not great”.
