“Reliable tapas in handy locations” is the USP of this 16-year-old trio with a flagship near King’s Cross station (by far the best known) and offshoots in Shoreditch and Monument. But while they’re “decent enough”, they offer “standard fayre” – it’s “nothing exceptional”.

“Reasonable enough tapas, with all the standard dishes” help make this long-running Hispanic trio into “decent” value and also quite “fun” options. The original and best-known branch is “tucked away incredibly close to King’s Cross station, which makes it very handy for a meet-up” (with Shoreditch and Monument also useful addresses).

“You can’t knock a place that does good morcilla” – and for “great food that won’t break the bank”, the “consistently high standards” at this small Hispanic group win it a small but enthusiastic following. The Bankside branch closed since our last edition, leaving the King’s Cross original, plus Shoreditch and Monument.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
