This Shoreditch lounge/bar/club/restaurant is fully immersed in all things Steve McQueen (hence the name); the Grill restaurant has his picture adorning the walls, and a plasma screen shows his films on loop. The large outdoor terrace is where to head for in summer.
Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
All things Steve McQueen provide the theme for this comfortable and plushly decked out Shoreditch grill, which has “upped its game since a revamp last October”, serving very decent steaks and “killer cocktails”. Top Tip – BYO free on Tuesdays.
Launched in October 2016, The Grill at McQueen is a stylish new steak restaurant adjacent to McQueen's Lounge Bar, located in the heart of Shoreditch. Overseen by executive chef Richard Sandiford and with head chef Richard James at the helm of the kitchen, The Grill offers prime cuts of beef, fresh fish & seafood, accompanied by a wide selection of sides and paired with an extensive wine and cocktail list. The dining room features a striking design with black and white vintage photography of the late Hollywood legend Steve McQueen. We look forward to welcoming you at The Grill.
Our very talented head chef Kamil moved to England in 2006 to further his career as a chef having previously worked as a cook in his native Poland for two years. In London he had the opportunity to work for household names such as Hawksmoor and Tom's Kitchen to name a few. His favourite dish at The Grill is the BBQ braised pork belly and his tipple of choice is bourbon. A man of good taste!
