Harden's survey result
Summary
“Incredible food that’s very reasonably priced from a menu that’s excellent value and brilliant service” win enthusiastic praise (if only from a limited fan base) for Daniel Smith’s “small” converted 14th-century inn: nowadays a restaurant-with-rooms. It’s the possessor of an impressive three AA rosettes.
Summary
This “gorgeous 14th-century inn” is now a “lovely restaurant-with-rooms” – “one of the best places to eat in this part of Norfolk” – with “excellent” food from chef-patron Daniel Smith, who got his first break as a teenager working for Le Gavroche: he marked its closure last year by treating diners to Michel Roux Jr’s signature dish, soufflé suissesse.
Summary
Locally born chef-patron Daniel Smith’s smartly thatched country restaurant-with-rooms “never disappoints and has the best food for some miles around”. Relying mainly on local produce, it’s “a great place to eat either the set lunch menu or the tasting menu” – and is also “very pleasant to stay in”.
Summary
This “exceptional” restaurant-with-rooms showcases chef-patron Daniel Smith’s “adventurous and imaginative menus”, ranging from two to eight courses and built around “superb locally sourced produce”. “Having visited over the years, I feel it’s getting better and better”.
For 35 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Ingham Swan Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Rather overshadowed by our meal the previous evening, this again a tasting menu, part of the booking package. Everthing is there but not quite as refined as many other places, really perhaps a 3 rating but as this is a 7 day a week operation and they also have an a la carte it is very impressive so we give it a 4"
"We were fortunate to get a table on a busy Friday evening, but the service was never rushed or poor - it was superb! I have particular praise for the seats, which were far more comfortable than the average restaurant seating, which helped us to de-stress after a struggle to get there. The inventive menu did not disappoint in any way, and was better than the price might suggest - I'm sure they could charge more. The building itself was beautifully decorated without being flashy - We wish we lived nearer than 280 mile away."
