A “bustling” ambiance that “gives a lift to the spirits” is the chief plus-point of this brasserie offshoot of the ever-expanding London luminary. Even fans concede it’s “expensive for what it is”, and “could be said to be a little formulaic”, while a couple of other reporters noted meals that were positively bad.

This “real asset” to the local scene, fruit of the glam Theatreland icon’s recent mega-expansion, is one of its better branches. As with other cities, the odd disappointment is not unknown, but most reports are of a suitably “buzzy” venue, with “professional” service and “good food at sensible prices”.

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
