“A local establishment offering consistent Italian dining” – this family-owned fixture has survived the passing of chef-patron Stefano Lancelloti, who died suddenly in 2023, shortly after celebrating the 25th anniversary of the restaurant he named after his hometown in Emilia Romagna. His son Nico is now part of the kitchen team looking after his legacy. Top Tip – “great for celebrations”.

This “excellent Italian restaurant” is “a real treat to visit”, with a menu of “well presented food” from Emilia Romagna. Its founding chef-patron Stefano Lancellotti, a well-known figure in Harrogate, died suddenly last summer, soon after celebrating the venue’s 25th anniversary; his son Nico subsequently joined the team with a view to carrying on the family tradition.

Chef-owner Stefano Lancellotti and his wife Sara Ferguson celebrate the 25th anniversary of their highly rated restaurant this year. Named after his home town in Emilia Romagna, it brings an authentic taste of the region to Yorkshire – even the eggs are imported to create pasta as it should be.

Limited but very positive feedback yet again for Stefano Lancellotti and wife Sara’s traditional Italian of nearly a quarter century standing, where the cooking focuses on dishes from the Emilia Romagna region.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
