Harden's survey result
Summary
In September 2021, Great British Menu chef Roberta Hall-McCarron and FOH husband Shaun relaunched their French/British-inspired venture in larger, more polished premises on Bonnington Road. We’ve maintained ratings in anticipation of a more ambitious spin on their menu, foraged from the wilds and waters of the Scottish landscape (now with three options for each course, plus in-house sourdough). (Eleanore, a restaurant and wine bar for counter-style dining on Scottish small plates, is due to succeed this venture in the ex-Little Chartroom premises in late 2021).
Summary
Ex-Castle Terrace head chef Roberta Hall and restaurant manager Shaun McCarron strike out on their own with a new, little (just 18-covers) French/British-inspired bistro in Leith. Early feedback suggest it’s worth a visit: “tiny and hard to get in, but the food is great and front of house spot-on.”

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Little Chartroom Restaurant Diner Reviews

"OK - this is an amazing restaurant. But I don't quite understand why you have to book 5 months in advance. It's bonkers popular. It's great - but not 5 months great. I mean - it's exactly the kind of restaurant you want near your house - but it's a 5 month booking lead time...which is great for them, it's packed and popular. But I don't know...weirdly popular. "
