An “unprepossessing exterior” – the legacy of its 1960s origins as a motel – “belies a great experience” at this beachside venue, where you can feast on chef Jamie Guy’s “delicious, perfectly cooked, fresh, locally sourced fish and seafood” and other regional produce.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"We ate two dinners during our short stay in the hotel, and enjoyed almost everything (only a Peach Melba was disappointing). Some dishes were exceptional, including a Venetian style veal liver and superb quality fillet steak with a glorious bordelaise sauce. Service was a bit hit-and-miss, though, and prices are firmly at a London level."
