“Never had a poor meal” – this smart but low-key branch of the slick national group founded by Sicilian-born Carlo Distefano delivers “lovely cooking, attentive and well-trained staff, and there’s always a good atmosphere”“a tried and tested favourite for all special occasions”.

“Consistently good food”, spearheaded by “superb fish & seafood dishes”, wins high praise for this branch of the “glitzy” national chain established nearly 30 years ago by Brum-based Sicilian Carlo Distefano. Admirers still reckon it’s “the best Italian restaurant in Bristol”.

“Super dooper!”; you “can’t go wrong at this Bristol stalwart” – one of the oldest members of the successful national chain – known for its “very glitzy” glamour and “reliable” (but pricey) cuisine.

It’s “always a pleasure” to eat at this “very reliable” (albeit expensive) Italian – part of the glossy national chain; “like the rest of the group it’s a real ‘see and be seen’ place…great for WAGs”!

"Much better than I remember the Manchester San Carlo. Great food and the decor is excellent. Much more a restaurant than a pizza chain. If only the waiters smiled..."

"The best all round restaurant in Bristol. Good choice of traditional and modern Italian food at sensible prices. Always a pleasure to eat there. Good service and a buzzy atmosphere most times of the day."
