Harden's says
This classic Italian from Peter Sanchez-Iglesias replaces Casamia, the award-winning and boundary-pushing restaurant at the same harbourside venue that he closed for good last year. The menu revisits familiar dishes served at the original family trattoria in Wesbury-on-Trym.
Harden's survey result
Summary
The Sanchez-Iglesias have considerably reformatted their Michelin-starred Casamia (RIP), which closed in summer 2022. In the place of that boundary-pushing (and extremely expensive) flagship, comes this more conventional, modern Italian replacement, whose open kitchen delivers a menu inspired by the family’s original trattoria in Wesbury-on-Trym, with a selection of antipasti, pastas and reworkings of classic dishes such as chicken Milanese.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
