2024 Review: “A fantastic and remote setting with views outside over the waters” of Loch Glendhu are the special attractions of this distant hotel, just off NC500 (a 516-mile scenic route around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle). It caught the national press this year on charges of being overpriced, and our reports do include the accusation that it has become a “rip off”. For the majority, though, it’s still “a destination spot whose food and service do not let the location down: lobster mac’n’cheese, catch of the day, monkfish curry all worthy of praise in a place that’s nicely balanced between pub and a hotel”.
