2024 Review: “An excellent meal with a very interesting menu!” – praise for this modern venue with an open kitchen which occupies a grand former banking hall in the centre of this regional market town. The Guardian’s Grace Dent is also a fan – in her April 2023 review she applauded “a special-treat place… and one that the community clearly loves”: “fancy, hearty and possibly a little more pricey than everywhere else around these parts” – a “menu of fine-quality local meat, fish and veg, served in painstakingly concocted ways”.
