Harden's says
The Farmer's Arms was taken over in 2015 by Michael and Xochi Birch - co-founders of social networking site, Bebo. Their project, to revive the fortunes of this small village include the fish & chip shop (already open), post office and shop, four guest cottages and a hotel set within a Grade II listed Georgian manor house, all due to open by 2021. The pub (which serves light meals and snacks) has a separate restaurant.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“A pub that understands its customers well and caters for all preferences” – this ancient hostelry was elegantly revamped by Michael & Xochi Birch in 2018 as part of a growing Collective at Woolsery (also including farm, post office and chippy): “the food really is down-to-earth but of great quality and using local ingredients”.
For 35 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
