A fifth site from the Gladwin Bros (Rabbit, Nutbourne, etc).
Harden's survey result
Not far from the Thames and Richmond High Street, the Gladwin family’s fifth field-to-fork venture (with food and wines from their farm in Sussex) inspires the promising but mixed reviews that seem to be part of the DNA of their chain. Some excellent meals were enjoyed, but the odd disappointment sounds a warning note.
The Gladwin family (owners of Shed, Rabbit, Nutbourne, Sussex) are opening their fifth venture in late 2021, supplied by the family farm and vineyard in Sussex: a new bar/restaurant just off Richmond’s high street on a site that was once GBK. We are promised ‘distinct countryside luxe-style, serving modern farm-to-fork food in an atmospheric, sprawling space overlooking the Richmond riverside’.
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
