A Jericho institution for more than 30 years – “the food remains excellent” at this “charming” Lebanese. To newcomers it’s still “a real find” – “so many small dishes to choose from that I never got to the mains, although my friends were impressed with those”. “Pleasing and original choice of vegetarian offerings”, too.
“Al Shami is an Oxford institution: it has been here for over three decades and has introduced many of us to the delights of Lebanese cuisine” helped by its embracing and welcoming style; the food “remains excellent”.
A “wonderfully reliable” Jericho Lebanese particularly of note for its superior mezze; “it’s the antithesis of fine dining, and much the better for it!”
“Chatty and accommodating staff” add to the appeal of this “unfailingly good” Lebanese, which is “always very lively, despite its out-of-the-way location, in Jericho”. Prices are “very reasonable” and although “the mezze are probably the best bet”, the more substantial fare is “tender and delicious”.
Al-Shami Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Food delicious but service unfriendly. They no longer serve a plate of raw vegetables to start with."
