Stop Press – as of January 2023, much-garlanded chef Robert Thompson is “back to his own establishment after a brief venture to Cowes’ North House” (now rebranded as Foresters Hall), a fancy boutique hotel that was reportedly not fancy enough to make a good match for his high-end cooking. Fans couldn’t be more delighted that his “amazing” venue is back in business, and “while the food is centre stage”, the “service and theatre of it all are a great support act” (particularly if you sit downstairs – home to the open kitchen).
