Brothers Roberto & Walter Pani opened their “lovely” and “buzzy” favourite in 1995 – “a great-value Italian venue which rarely disappoints,” offering a “varied menu of high-standard” Sardinian and Italian classics. “Staff are very motivated”, while last year’s “successful refurbishment makes it brighter inside”.

“A local institution which nearly always comes up trumps even when it is very busy”; staff “treat you like family”, the “ambience is fab” and the bargainous Sardinian food is “always reliable” (homely classics being supported by “interesting and varied specials”).

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
